well, i'm gonna give this blog thing a go. lately ive just been feeling a little bleh since my love is on deployment. but i have found a new hobby to keep me busy and it's being an amateur photographer. i love my little red 135 holga. it uses flim, that's right, i said film lol! and i love it. i wish i had a scanner to post them, but i might go to a local drug store and copy them and put them on a disk. i also like to make some jewelry too and today i got a check for one of my pieces that sold at a local jewelry store. it's been a while since one of my pieces got sold, so it was really nice to see someone out there liked a piece. it makes me want to start it up again. i might as well, the job market has been hard to try to get into. it doesnt help that i was was sick for about 3 years and it makes my resume look spotty, which is bumming. i am a good worker, ive liked all my jobs i've worked for lol. but if things dont turn out, i might as well head back to school and take photography more seriously rather than letting it just be a hobby.
i'm thinking about going around town tomorrow and using up the rest of my black and white film and start up another color roll.
the majority of what's on my current film is a cemetery. i'm excited to see how they turned out. this cemetery was wonderful, so peaceful and quiet, i would have stayed there all day. there were so many old grave at least dating back to the late 1800s, i dont remember exactly how late, but i knew they were old. it was just wonderful. it was so huge too, but i think i was only able to cover half of it.
i really so want to go back and take more pictures. i hope that doesnt make me sound crazy lol. another thing, i wasnt going there to try and find ghosts or what nots, though it would be cool if i did since where i was at i was just with my friend and no one else was around. but in all seriousness, i was there to take pictures of how calm and peaceful a cemetery could be. there is beauty in a broken headstone with moss growing. there is also beauty in some of the mushrooms i've spotted here and there on the grass around graves as well.
there is beauty in every day things, it just depends on who thinks it's beautiful and who thinks it's just an everyday item.
i shall write more when i have developed my film. i hope the pictures came out awesome!
